Pressure Cooker: Wonder Vessel for Bachelors

I am back to my favorite cooking corner with loads of mouth watering recipes. Well most of my friends stay away from their family for work and study. They complain that they hardly have any time to cook and need to rely on outside junk food. This affects their health badly and turns out to be pocket pinching. So, this time I will share some bachelor cooking tips in wonder vessel-the pressure cooker.

I remember this huge Wholesale Pressure Cookers at my ancestral home in which my grandma would cook sambhar and tender mutton curry. This was simply amazing and sure enough to tickle your taste buds with that characterized home cooked food aroma. Pressure cooker was once considered to be a military cooking tool and for housewives that spent hours cooking for the family. But today this humble cooking utensil is not only regarded as a wonder worker but helps you to save time.

Few years back there were few families that used pressure cookers. But the dim image of pressure cooker is changing and it is one of the most used cooking vessels at homes and restaurant kitchens. If you are die hard foodie then you will agree that pressure cookers are perfect for making stock and it helps to extract more flavors than primary cooking utensils. You can readily keep the dish in the vessel which will turn it into a rich creamy liquid. My love for pressure cooker started last Christmas when I decided to cook stir-free risotto. Within few minutes you can cook sublime short ribs that are fork tender and not much mushy with meat pieces bathed in broth.

According to Pressure Cooker Manufacturer the science behind this vessel is pretty simple. It increases the boiling point of water because it is sealed inside a strong pot and can heat up to 250 degree F before starting to boil. The old fashioned pressure cookers were made up of pretty simple valves and had of reputation of potential disaster. But the modern ones have locking handles, gaskets on outside and pressure releases valves so that they would not explode from outside. As long as you follow the instruction carefully there is nothing to be afraid of using it. Till then all the best and enjoy cooking! Share your bachelor cooking recipes in pressure cooker here.
